HARTFORD, Conn. | The University of Alabama in Huntsville hockey team lost to Hockey East affiliate Connecticut at the XL Center by a score of 6-0 on Friday night in the squad's first nonconference matchup of the season. UAH slips to 2-1-0, while UConn improves to 1-0-0.

Turning Point

- The Huskies potted three straight goals in the first period with tallies by Wyatt Newpower at 6:50, Tage Thompson at 8:56, and Karl El-Mir at 19:24 for the early 3-0 lead.

Inside the Box Score

- Following the first-period outburst, Connecticut continued to keep the offensive pressure with two goals in the middle frame by Evan Richardson at 7:04 and Thompson with his second at 9:47.
