At 6:09 of the second period, Bliss would score his second goal of the game for a 3-0 Huskies lead, when he fired a shot from the boards that would find its way through traffic to beat Laker goalie Mareks Mitens.

The Lakers leading goal scorer, senior forward Max Humitz, would get Lake State on the board when he notched his seventh goal of the season at 12:26 of the second period. Humitz's wrist shot from the top of the face-off circle would make its way behind Tech's netminder, Matt Jurusik, to put the game at 3-1. Humitz's goal, the 49th in his career as a Laker, was assisted by Yuki Miura and Will Riedell. Humitz now has scored a goal in four straight games against the Huskies.

The Lakers would respond at 6:20 of the third period when freshman forward Niko Esposito-Selivanov tallied his first collegiate goal when he deflected a shot from the point by Mitchell Oliver. Riedell added his second assist of the night on the game's final goal that would make the score 4-2.

Mitens finished the game with 26 saves while Jurusik stopped 23 Laker shots in the Husky win. The Lakers finished the game with 25 shots on goal as opposed to Michigan Tech's 30 shots on goal.
