EDINA, Minn. – Oct. 31, 2016 – Continuing to make a mark on the international stage, 29 current or former women's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) players are scheduled to participate in the 2016 Four Nations Cup, which runs Nov. 1 through Nov. 5 in Vierumäki, Finland.

The 29 women with WCHA ties include representation from seven of the league's member institutions (Bemidji State University, the University of Minnesota, the University of Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State University, University of North Dakota, the Ohio State University, St. Cloud State University and the University of Wisconsin), competing for each of the four participating countries (United States of America, Canada, Sweden and host Finland). In addition, a 29th player – former Minnesota great Amanda Kessel – was named to the original United States roster but will not play due to injury.

Six current student-athletes will be playing in the prestigious tournament: Wisconsin junior Annie Pankowski (Wisconsin) and Minnesota senior Lee Stecklein will wear the Team USA sweater, Minnesota Duluth teammates Maria Lindh and Michelle Löwenhielm will play for Sweden, and North Dakota teammates Anna Kilponen and Vilma Tanskanen will play for her native Finland on home soil.
