The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team (5-27-2, 4-24-0 WCHA) completed the regular season portion of its 2011-12 schedule with a 6-1 loss at home against Bemidji State University (17-15-3, 11-14-2 WCHA) on Saturday, Feb. 18 at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

The Beavers charted four power play goals in the first period to ice the victory and then added one goal each in the second and third periods.

Emily Erickson opened the BSU scoring with a PPG at 12:08 of the first. Sadie Lundquist made it 2-0 with another BSU PPG at 14:55 and then Marlee Wheelhouse posted a power play goal at 16:51 of the first. The barrage ended at 19:41 of the first with another power play goal by Wheelhouse.

In the second period, BSU moved the score to 5-0 with its fifth power play goal of the day with a goal at 2:28 by Montana Vichorek. The Beavers completed the day with an even-strength goal at 8:37 of the third period by Erickson.

The Huskies broke the shutout at 18:23 of the third period with an even strength goal by Amanda Arbogast. Callie Dahl charted the lone assist on the play. This was Arbogast's second goal of the season and Dahl's third assist of the year.

In the nets, Zuzan Tomcikova had 26 saves for the Beavers and Tayler VanDenakk added 25 saves for the Huskies. Overall, BSU outshot the Huskies 31-27. On the power play, BSU was 5-of-6 and SCSU was 0-of-5.

Prior to the start of the game on Feb. 18, the Huskies honored senior players VanDenakker, Brittany Toor and Jaclyn Daggit. The game marked their final regular season home game at the NHC.

Next weekend, the Huskies will open play in the first round of the WCHA playoffs.
