COLUMBUS, Ohio - Trailing after the first period, the Ohio State women's hockey team was unable to capitalize and fell to No. 1 Wisconsin, 2-0, at OSU Ice Rink Saturday. The loss dropped Ohio State to 5-4-1, 5-4-1-1 (WCHA), while the Badgers improved to 11-1-0, 7-1-0 (WCHA).

Wisconsin's first goal came at 15:45 in the first period on the power play. Following an Ohio State tripping penalty, Badger Brooke Ammerman cradled a pass from Hilary Knight past center ice and took the puck through the crease to sneak a shot past OSU goaltender Chelsea Knapp. Badger goalie Alex Rigsby was also credited with an assist.

The Badgers struck again in the second, scoring at 14:42 in the second. Ammerman earned her second goal of the game, picking up a rebound and slipping the puck just across the line. Assists went to Brianna Decker and Carolyne Prevost.

Despite pulling Knapp in the final minute and outshooting the Badgers 16-6, the third stanza remained scoreless for both teams.

In the faceoff circle the Buckeyes trailed 23-19, but led in shots 30 to 26. Between the pipes, Knapp made 24 saves to Rigsby's 30

The Buckeyes take an almost two-week break from competition before returning to the ice Nov. 18-19, traveling to Syracuse, N.Y., to take on the Orange of Syracuse. Games begin 7 p.m. Friday and 4 p.m. Saturday.
