Brittany Toor scored a power-play goal for the Huskies

St. Cloud, Minn. - The St. Cloud State University women's hockey team (1-8-1, 0-6-0 WCHA) lost a tough 3-1 decision at home against Robert Morris University (6-1-1, 0-0-0 CHA) on Saturday, Oct. 29 at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud.

Robert Morris opened the game's scoring at 3:26 of the 1st period with a goal by Jamie Joslin as assists were added by Cobrina Delaney and Brianna Delaney. The Colonials posted the eventual game winner at 5:46 of the second period with an even-strength goal by Brianna Delaney. Kelsey Thomas and Kathy Stack added the assist on the GWG.

The Huskies broke the shutout in the second period with a goal at 13:21 by senior forward Brittany Toor (Hartland, Mich.). The power play goal was assisted by freshman forward Abby Ness (Roseau) and junior forward Jocelyn Zabrick (Airdrie, Alberta). This was Toor's second goal of the season and her fifth point in 2011-12. The assist was Zabrick's first of 2011-12 and this marked Ness' fourth assist of the campaign.

RMU iced the contest later in the third period with an even-strength goal by Thea Imbrogno at 10:20. Rebecca Vint notched the lone assist on the play.

In the game, SCSU outshot the Colonials by a 28-24 margin. Kristen DiCiocco was the goalie of record for RMU with 27 saves. SCSU's Julie Friend (Minnetonka) collected 21 saves for the Huskies as he record moves to 1-3-0.

The Huskies will return to the ice on Nov. 4-5 with a pair of 2:07 p.m. starts against North Dakota at the National Hockey Center in St. Cloud. Fans can purchase tickets for these games at the gate and all SCSU students with a valid SCSU student ID card are admitted FREE to these WCHA showdowns. Fans can also listen to the games live on KVSC FM 88.1 (www.kvsc.org).
