Mankato, Minn --- Tristen Truax scored her first career goal, but Minnesota State women's hockey lost to No. 9 Robert Morris 6-2 on Sunday afternoon at Verizon Center.

Truax, a freshman forward, one-timed a pass from freshman forward Brittyn Fleming for her first goal as a Maverick at 8:20 of the second period. Fleming's assist is her team-leading third of the season. The Mavericks' second goal of the day was scored by sophomore defenseman Jordan Jackson on the power play at 17:17 of the third period. Junior forward Jordan McLaughlin assisted on the play. However, Minnesota State (1-2-1) was unable to match Robert Morris' (2-0-0) offensive output.

The Colonials jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first 20:00 of play, and extended their lead to 4-0 in the second period, before Truax's goal got the Mavericks on the scoreboard. Robert Morris scored one more time in the second period and once in the third, before Jackson's goal made the final score 6-2.

Amber Rennie and Brittany Howard each recorded a hat trick and four points for Robert Morris, while teammate Jaycee Gebhard led all skaters in assists (6) and points (6).
