WENTZVILLE, Mo. --- Minnesota State wins its second consecutive game in 1-0 shutout over Lindenwood on Friday afternoon at Lindenwood Ice Arena.
Tristan Truax scored the lone goal of the game as it was the first game-winning goal of her career.
The Mavericks were the first to get on the board as sophomore defenseman Tristen Truax poke-checked a Lindenwood played at center ice. She then drove down the middle of the ice and beat Lions' netminder Sophie Wolf under her stick for her second goal of the season at the 12:27 mark in the first period.
The second and third period went scoreless as freshman Abigail Levy (6-5-2) collected her third shutout of the season. Levy made 18 saves on the night and her counterpart, Wolf, made 22 saves on 23 opportunities.
Both teams went 0-4 on the power-play even though they both had five-on-three opportunities.
The sixth win of the season gives the Mavericks more wins this season in 13 games than they had all of last season. The 2005-06 season was the last time that Minnesota State had a winning record through 13 games when the record was 8-4-1.
Minnesota State (6-5-2) and Lindenwood will play again tomorrow at 2:00 p.m., at the Lindenwood Ice Arena.
