ST. CLOUD, Minn. - St. Cloud State Women's hockey faced off against Lindenwood Lions at 6:07pm at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center. After the first period, the Huskies had a one goal lead when Laura Kluge scored her first goal of the season at 10:53. Kluge's game-winning goal was assisted by Hallie Theodosopoulos and Annika Fazokas. The second period came with many chances for both teams, but went scoreless.
The exciting third period began with senior Brooke Kudirka scoring six minutes in on a breakaway. About four minutes later, Brooke Kudirka tallied a second goal to put the Huskies up by three. Just ten seconds after, freshman Claire Hickey scored her first career goal followed by Kenzie Wylie notching her first career goal as well. With under ten seconds to play, Brooke Kudirka scored her third goal of the game on the powerplay to make it a 6-0 victory over the Lions. Junior Emma Polusny tallied her fifth career shutout as she stopped 27 shots. The Huskies had 33 shots on Lindenwood's goalie Lauren Hennessey. Ten different Huskies had points in the shutout victory.
The Huskies face off against the Lions tomorrow at 3:07pm back at the Herb Brooks National Hockey Center.
