UNIONDALE, N.Y. - In a weekend of firsts, the top-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team dominated LIU 12-0 on the ice of the pros Saturday night at NYCB Live at Nassau Coliseum.

Sophomore Sophie Shirley took away her first career hat-trick, the first one for the Badgers (8-0-0, 2-0-0 WCHA) this year, while Dara Greig, Jesse DeVito and Grace Bowlby posted their first career collegiate goals.

Abby Roque posted two goals alongside by Britta Curl, Caitlin Schneider, Presley Norby and Nicole LaMantia as UW outshot LIU (0-4-0) 80-6, breaking a school record in the process.

Three Notes of the Game

- Wisconsin broke a program record with its 80 shots on goal on Saturday night. The previous record was 72 set in a 11-0 win over Lindenwood on Sept. 25, 2011.

- Daryl Watts saw her goal streak end at seven games, but the junior still chipped in three assists during the triumph. Watts leads all NCAA skaters with 25 points through eight games this year.

- Breanna Blesi earned her first collegiate win as the Maple Grove, Minnesota, native played the first 40 minutes for UW. She stopped two shots before Nikki Cece came in and made four saves in the final 20 minutes.

Wisconsin returns home to face Bemidji State at LaBahn Arena. Puck drop on Saturday, Oct. 26 is set for 2 p.m. while puck drop on Sunday, Oct. 27 is also set for 2 p.m.
