2019-20 WCHA Game Recap

Senior Hallie Theodosopoulos scored a goal for the Huskies
St. Cloud State Defeated By Mercyhurst, 4-1

St. Cloud State Women's hockey team faced off against Mercyhurst for game one of the weekend series at 6:05pm in Erie, Pennsylvania.

Two early goals by the Lakers and multiple penalties caused the Huskies to struggle to come back. Mercyhurst scored two early goals in the first six minutes of the first period of the game, but the Huskies bounced back when Hallie Theodosopoulos tallied her seventh goal this season for the Huskies. Theodosopoulos was assisted by Hymlarova and Rasmussen.

The Lakers' early lead kept them ahead the whole game, as they notched two more goals past Emma Polusny. The Huskies held the Lakers to zero for seven on the powerplay. However, penalty trouble held the Huskies back from gaining momentum, as they struggled to come back. The Lakers outshot the Huskies 32 to 19 in tonight's contest. Emma Polusny made 29 saves for the Huskies.

Game two of the road series will be December 14th at Mercyhurst Ice Center at 2:05pm.
