Freshman forward Klara Hymlarova registered a goal and assist for the Huskies

ST. CLOUD, Minn. - The Huskies kicked off their season with an exhibition game against the University of Regina. The scoreless first period rolled by with twelve shots on goal by the Huskies and seven shots for Regina giving goaltender Janine Alder seven saves.

The second period came with three penalties from Regina and one for the Huskies. Strong penalty kills from both teams resulted in a second scoreless period. Sophomore goaltender Karlie Ries faced seven shots for seven saves. The Huskies put up 18 shots on goal.

An eventful third period began when Mckenna Wesloh tallied a goal for the Huskies. Wesloh was assisted by Jenniina Nylund and Laura Kluge. The Huskies' second goal shortly after from Hallie Theodosopoulos. Assists came from Klara Hymlarova and Dana Rasmussen. A late empty net goal was notched by Klara Hymlarova. The third period was played by Junior goaltender Emma Polusny. Polusny faced three shots for three saves.

The Huskies are home again next weekend for their first official games against Ohio State University on Oct. 4-5 at the HBHNC.
