Two Western Collegiate Hockey Associations student-athletes have been selected by the Hockey Commissioners Association as its National Player of the Month. The University of Wisconsin's Britta Curl was named as the HCA Player of the Month for games played in September and October, 2023 and St. Cloud State University Sanni Ahola was selected as the HCA Goaltender of the Month for September/October 2023.

BRITTA CURL - PLAYER OF THE MONTH
Britta Curl
A graduate student forward from Bismarck, N.D., Curl led the #1 ranked Badgers (and the NCAA) in scoring this month with 26 points and 16 assists in her team's first 10 games of the season. Curl also scored 10 goals and tied a team record by scoring a goal in the last nine consecutive games she has played in.
Curl has charted a point in 10 consecutive games this season and has guided the Badgers to a perfect 10-0-0 record this winter, which includes a league leading 6-0-0 mark in the always rugged WCHA. She finished the start of the season with three power play goals, one game winning goal, 40 shots on target and was +21 on the plus/minus.
She has eight multi point games this season so far and has helped the Badgers outscore their opponents 74-10 in 2023-24.
SANNI AHOLA - GOALTENDER OF THE MONTH
Sanni Ahola
Ahola was almost perfect, stopping 99 of 100 shots in five games for the #11 ranked St. Cloud State Huskies this month. Three of the opponents received votes in the weekly Top 15 Poll during October and Ahola opened the season with four consecutive shutout for SCSU.
Ahola has only allowed one goal so far this season and currently owns a 0.20 goals against average and a .990 save percentage. A two-time WCHA Goalie of the Week this season, Ahola has helped St. Cloud State gain a top 15 national ranking and a 9-2-0, 4-1-0 WCHA record in 2023-24.
A senior from Helsinki, Finland, Ahola has seven shutouts during her career with the Huskies.
