Friday's action in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association was highlighted by No. 4 Minnesota becoming the first WCHA team to hit 500 wins in conference play.

MADISON, Wis. - 
The top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers completed their second-straight shutout against Bemidji State winning 6-0 in Friday night's action. Lacey Eden led all skaters in the contest with two goals while The Beavers held the Badgers scoreless in the third while Kaitlin Groess recorded 44 saves on the night for Bemidji State.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. 
Minnesota recorded its first conference win of the season with an 8-2 victory over Minnesota State. Tonight's win marked the 500th WCHA win all-time for the Gophers. Seven different Gophers' scored in the victory while Natalie Mlynkova led all skaters with two. in the net while collecting 18 saves in the game. Both Taylor Otremba and  Whitney Tuttle scored for the Mavericks in the loss.

COLUMBUS, Ohio -  
The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes opened the 2024 Women's Icebreaker Tournament with a shutout victory over Stonehill. The Buckeyes were dominant from the start, scoring three in the first frame courtesy of Josie Martin, Joy Dunne and Sloane Matthews. The Buckeyes will face No. 11 Cornell in the championship game tomorrow at 4 PM ET. Cornell shut out No. 12 Penn State 2-0 in its opening contest of the tournament.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. - 
After a scoreless first period of play, St. Thomas' Maddie Brown struck first to give the Tommies the lead. Avery Farrell tied the game for No. 8 St. Cloud State with just a little over five minutes left to play. The tommies would then go on to earn the extra point in the shootout after a scoreless overtime. Dani Strom recorded 26 saves for the Tommies while Emilia Kyrkkö posted 28 for the Huskies.
