MENDOTA HEIGHTS, Minn. – Scoring her second of the weekend, Cara Sajevic tied the game midway through the first period. Sajevic's fifth of the season was assisted by Haley Maxwell and Nora Sauer, marking Sauer's first collegiate point.
Knotted 1-1 heading into the first intermission, St. Thomas held the advantage in shots on goal 12-5 through 20 minutes.
Lindenwood added three goals in the middle frame, taking the 4-1 lead into the final 20 minutes of the weekend.
Dani Strom totaled eight saves through 40 minutes, as Maggie Malecha once again entered the game for the Tommies for the final period of the weekend.
Lindenwood was assessed a penalty for tripping with just under seven minutes to play in the game. The Tommies called Malecha to the bench, playing with an extra skater until Lindenwood scored its fifth goal with 2:08 to play. The Lions added their final goal late in the game, defeating the Tommies 6-1 on Friday afternoon.
