The Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) announced Wednesday, the hiring of Mykenzie Hunt as the Communications Coordinator and Digital Content Manager. Hunt joins the conference staff after spending nearly four years working at the Atlantic Sun Conference where she served as the Assistant Director of Digital Strategies and Communications. Hunt will serve as the primary communications contact and oversee all digital strategy efforts for the league.
"Mykenzie rose to the top with the combination of her experience, her skills, and her passion for elevating the WCHA brand. We are excited to bring her talents to the WCHA," said Ohio State Senior Deputy Athletic Director and Senior Woman Administrator Janine Oman.
At the ASUN, Hunt was charged with helping spearhead the digital strategies department where she created and produced digital content across each of the league's social media platforms. Hunt also served as the primary communications contact for several sports including Women's Soccer, Women's Basketball, Women's Lacrosse and Beach Volleyball.
Prior to the ASUN, Hunt served as a Media Relations Graduate Assistant at Coker University. At Coker, Hunt played a major role in communicating the University's athletic brand by being appointed as the lead graphic designer. She developed multiple social media initiatives that increased social media interaction numbers across all platforms.
Hunt obtained her Master's in College Athletic Administration from Coker University. She received her Bachelor's in Business Administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College where she was a four-year member and two-time captain of the women's basketball team.
