BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Minnesota, Ohio State and Wisconsin each picked up series sweeps in Saturday's Western Collegiate Hockey Association action.
The Badgers got the day started with a 8-1 victory over Lindenwood, marking the second straight year that Wisconsin has opened up the season with a sweep over the Lions. Minnesota defeated No. 9 Connecticut 3-2 in an overtime thriller. The Gophers' Abbey Murphy found the back of the net 51 seconds into overtime to give Minnesota the season-opening series sweep over the Huskies. Ohio State shutout Bemidji State 3-0 in conference play to complete the weekend sweep over the Beavers.
