Minnesota Defeats Bemidji State on New Year's Day at the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women's Faceoff Classic

The third-ranked Minnesota Gophers defeated Bemidji State 4-1 in a non-conference contest on New Year's Day as the two programs represented the Western Collegiate Hockey Association in the U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women's Faceoff Classic.

LAKEVILLE, Minn. -
The annual U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame Museum Women’s Face-Off Classic saw No. 3 Minnesota defeated Bemidji State 4-1 on Wednesday evening at Hasse Arena in Lakeville, Minnesota. The Beavers' Kate Johnson opened the game with a goal just under two minutes in before Minnesota's Natalie Mlynkova found the back of the net for the equalizer to close out the first period. After a scoreless second frame, the Gophers scored three unanswered in the third including two from Mlynkova as she notched her first hat trick of the season. Rookie goaltender, Hanna Clark, got the win in the net for the Gophers with 24 saves on the game.
