STANDINGS | COMPOSITE SCHEDULE

The third-ranked Minnesota Gophers and Bemidji State took part in Hockey Day Minnesota to highlight Saturday afternoon's action in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association. The third-ranked Gophers defeated the Beavers 3-1 in an outdoor contest at Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, Minnesota. Both No. 1 Wisconsin and No. 2 Ohio State recorded home victories over No. 11 St. Cloud State and Minnesota State, respectively.

MADISON, Wis. -
In the day's only top-ranked battle, No. 1 Wisconsin defeated No. 11 St. Cloud State 5-2 for the first contest in the series. Laney? Potter put the Badgers on the board just 46 seconds into play, but the Huskies were quick to respond with Emma Gentry's equalizer just over two minutes in. Casey O'Brien then took back the lead for the Badgers with a goal of her own. The Badgers scored two unanswered in the second frame while Lacey Eden netted one in the third for the 5-1 lead. Grace Wolfe ended the game with one more goal for the Huskies with seconds left to play. Sophomore netminder Ava McNaughton recorded her 24th win of the season for the Badgers.

COLUMBUS, Ohio. -
The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes completed the series sweep over Minnesota State after a 4-1 win at the OSU Ice Rink on Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless first period, Brooke Disher netted her second goal of the season for the 1-0 Buckeye lead with under three minutes left in the second frame. The Buckeyes scored back-to-back goals in the third before Minnesota State's Claire Vekich scored the lone goal of the day for the Mavericks. Six under six seconds left in the game, Ohio State's Mira? Jungåker found the back of the net for the 4-1 final.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - Minnesota and Bemidji State represented the WCHA in Hockey Day Minnesota at Valleyfair Amusement Park in Shakopee, Minnesota, where the Gophers recorded the series and season sweep of the Beavers with the 3-1 victory. The Gophers scored twice in the opening frame with goals from Emma Kreisz and Abbey Murphy, who tallied her 93rd career goal. Gracie Graham tallied another Gopher goal five minutes into the second frame before Morgan Smith responded three minutes later with the only goal of the game for Bemidji State. Kaitlin Groess stopped 35 of the 38 shots she faced in the loss for the Beavers. Minnesota is now on a six-game win streak and improved to 21-5-1 on the season.
