WCHA Recap - Nov. 14

Four of the nation's top five teams collected series-opening victories in Friday's Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) action with No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 2 Minnesota, No. 3 Ohio State, and No. 5 Minnesota Duluth defeating their respective opponents.

- Minnesota completes the weekend sweep of Bemidi State scoring nine goals in their 9-2 victory.
- NOTE: BSU won in the faceoff dot 26-23 overall.
- 15 Gophers got on the score sheet with Josefin Bouvang and Madison Kaiser leading the way with three assists each. Bella Fanale had 2 goals and an assist as well. In net, Layla Hemp picked up her fourth win of the season, making 8 saves.
- Morgan Smith picked up her second goal of the weekend for the Beavers and Maddie Kaiser added another one in the effort. It was a dual effort in net as Ava Hills made 48 saves and Kaitlin Groess had 5.

-  Ohio State sweeps Minnesota State with a 7-3 game that saw seven different goal scorers and eleven players pick up one or more points.

- Blueliner Sara Swiderski headlined the Buckeyes netting a goal and two assists on the afternoon. Rookies Hilda Svensson and Sanni Vanhanen each had three assists. Senior netminder Hailey MacLeod made 20 saves and picked up her seventh win of the season.
- Lauren Zawoyski had a goal and assist for the Mavericks, Kamryn Van Batavia and Makayla Moran picked up the other two goals. Hailey Hanson made 35 saves on the night.
