WCHA Recap - Nov. 28

Three Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) teams recorded victories in non-conference play on Friday as No. 2 Ohio State (No. 10 Clarkson), No. 14 St. Cloud State (No. 12 Colgate), and No. 15 Minnesota State (Dartmouth) defeated their respective ECAC foes.

 No. 14 St. Cloud State 3, No. 12 Colgate 2 OT | BOX SCORE | St. Cloud State Recap 
- Sofianna Sundelin guided No. 14 St. Cloud State to a 3-2 overtime victory against No. 12 Colgate to open the D1 in DC event, scoring all three goals and recording her first career hat trick. 
- Sundelin posted the 28th hat trick in St. Cloud State program history and the first of the season for the Huskies; teammate Alice Sauriol tallied an assist on one of the Sundelin goals as she recorded her 50th career point. 
- Emilia Kyrkkö recorded 29 saves in the win for the Huskies; Payton Holloway tallied two assists while Sauriol posted one. 

 No. 15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 2 | BOX SCORE | Minnesota State Recap
- Minnesota State picked up its ninth win of the season with a 5-2 victory over Dartmouth at home on Friday afternoon. 
- After a scoreless first period, Mercury Bischoff converted on a penalty shot at the 7:31 mark, followed by a goal from Whitney Tuttle less than four minutes later; up 2-1 after the second period, the Mavericks tallied three-straight goals in the opening 10 minutes of the third en route to the 5-2 victory.
- The Minnesota State offense was led by Tuttle (1g, 1a), Lauren Zawoyski (2a), and Lauren Goldsworthy (2g) while Hailey Hansen got the win in net with 24 saves. 
 
  No. 2 Ohio State 8, No. 10 Clarkson 0 | BOX SCORE | Ohio State Recap
- The second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes recorded their third shutout of the season after an 8-0 victory over No. 10 Clarkson to open up the D1 in DC event. 
- After a scoreless opening frame, Ohio State exploded for four goals in both the second and third periods as six different Buckeyes tallied at least a point in the win, with Hilda Svensson and Joy Dunne each tallying five to lead the offense; Svensson's five points were a career high. 
- Svensson recorded her first career hat trick in the win; Hailey MacLeod earned her second shutout of the season in the win with nine saves. 

Lindenwood 7, Bemidji State 4 | BOX SCORE | Bemidji State Recap 
- Bemidji State's late comeback effort came up short, as the Beavers fell to Lindenwood 7-4 in non-conference action on Friday. 
- Hailey Armstrong led the Beavers with two goals, while Raeley Carney and Kate Johnson both tallied two assists; seven different Beavers tallied at least a point in the loss.
- Ava Hills started the game and played the first period, allowing three goals on nine shots before Kaitlin Groess came in during the second period and stopped 22 of the 24 shots she faced.
