WCHA Recap - Nov. 29

The top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers, No. 2 Ohio State, and No. 15 Minnesota State secured victories to highlight Saturday's non-conference slate in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association.

No. 15 Minnesota State 5, Dartmouth 0 | BOX SCORE | Minnesota State Recap
-  A four-goal second period helped No. 15 Minnesota State to a series sweep over Dartmouth as the Mavericks won 5-0 at home on Saturday afternoon; the win marked the fourth-straight victory and 10th overall this season for the Mavericks. 
- Kamryn Van Batavia led the Minnesota State offense with a goal and two assists in the win as she recorded a season-high three points. 
- Rookie netminder Kaydence Roeske recorded her second shutout of the season and her career while stopping all 21 shots she faced in the contest. 

No. 1 Wisconsin 5, RV Mercyhurst 1 | BOX SCORE | Wisconsin Recap
-  The top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers defeated Mercyhurst 5-1 in their first game of the SMASHVILLE Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase; Lacey Eden led the Badger offense with two goals and two assists. 
- Caroline Harvey registered her 168th career point with an assist on the first Badger goal of the game as she now holds the record for most career points by a WCHA defender; Harvey registered three assists in the win. 
- Ava McNaughton started in net for the Badgers for the first two periods, making seven saves before Chloe Baker came on for her season debut and stopped all seven shots she faced.

  No. 2 Ohio State 5, No. 12 Colgate 0 | BOX SCORE | Ohio State Recap
- After a scoreless first period, the second-ranked Ohio State Buckeyes tallied four second-period goals en route to a 5-0 victory over No. 12 Colgate to go undefeated at the D1 in DC event. 
- Rookie forwards Kassidy Carmichael and Sanni Vanhanen each recorded two goals in the second frame to lead the Ohio State offense; Vanhanen recorded the first multi-goal game of her career in the win. 
- Genny Klein earned the first shutout of her career in her second career start as she stopped all 17 shots she faced for the Buckeyes. 

 Bemidji State 2, Lindenwood 2 OT | BOX SCORE | Bemidji State Recap
- Bemidji State and Lindenwood skated to a 2–2 draw in a matchup that remained deadlocked through overtime, while the Lions secured the shootout win. 
- Isa Goettl gave the Beavers the first goal of the game just over a minute and a half into the opening frame before Lindenwood responded at the 18:16 mark later in the period;  Morgan Smith put the Beavers back in front with a goal at the 14:37 mark of the second periood but the Lions tied the game with less than five minutes left in the game.
- Kaitlin Groess recorded 31 saves in the game, her third most this season, to preserve the tie for Bemidji State. 

No. 10 Clarkson 2, No. 14 St. Cloud State 0 | BOX SCORE | St. Cloud State Recap  
- The 14th-ranked St. Cloud State Huskies fell 2-0 to No. 10 Clarkson in the first-ever meeting between the two teams; the Huskies went 1-1 overall at the D1 in DC event. 
- Emilia Kyrkkö had 28 saves in the loss while only allowing one even-strength goal; Kyrkkö's 28 saves were her fifth most in a game this season. 
- This marked just the first time this season that the Huskies had been shut out and the first time since January 11, 2025.
