The top-tanked Wisconsin Badgers defeated No. 3 Minnesota 6-1 on Sunday in Western Collegiate Hockey Association action.

MADISON, Wis. - After begining crowned the 2024-25 Julianne Bye Cup WCHA regular season champions on Saturday, the top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers defeated No. 3 Minnesota 6-1 for the series sweep on Sunday. The Badgers and Gophers held each other scoreless through the first frame, before Wisconsin opened up the third with three straight goals under the first eight minutes courtesy of Vivian Jungels, Kirsten Simms, and Lacey Eden. Emma Conner scored the lone goal for the Gophers at the 9:37 mark of the second, but Casey O'Brien closed out the second with another Badger goal for the 4-1 lead. The final frame saw Claire Enright and Kelly Gorbatenko find the back of the net late in the third for the 6-1 final score. Wisconsin's O'Brien reached the 250-point milestone of her career off an assist in the second period. Despite the loss, rookie netminder Hannah Clark posted 37 saves for the Gophers, while Wisconsin's Ava McNaughton got the win between the pipes and recorded 24 saves for the Badgers.
