For the fourth time in league history, three Western Collegiate Hockey Association programs are bound for the National Collegiate Athletic Association Women's Ice Hockey Frozen Four. After competing in the 2025 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff just over a week ago, the 2025 WCHA Final Faceoff Champion, Wisconsin will be joined by Minnesota and Ohio State at the 2025 NCAA Frozen Four hosted by Minnesota at Ridder Arena in Minneapolis on March 21 and 23.
In the NCAA Regional Finals, Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio State were victorious over their ECAC foes. Wisconsin defeated Clarkson 4-1 in Madison, Minnesota won at home 3-2 against fifth-seeded Colgate, and Ohio State hosted and defeated St. Lawrence 6-1. Third-seeded Cornell defeated Minnesota Duluth 1-0.
The second-seeded Ohio State Buckeyes and third-seeded Cornell meet in the first national semifinal contest at 4:00 p.m. CT on Friday, March 21, followed by top-seeded Wisconsin and fourth-seeded Minnesota facing off in the second national semifinal at 7:30 p.m. CT. Wisconsin, Minnesota, and Ohio State will compete to bring home the WCHA's 22nd national championship title on Sunday, March 23, at 3 p.m. CT.
At the 2025 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff, Wisconsin defeated Minnesota 4-3 in the championship game to earn its 11th Final Faceoff Championship crown. The Gophers earned a spot in the WCHA Final Faceoff title game after defeating Ohio State 6-2 in the semifinals.
During the regular season, the Badgers won all four meetings in regulation against the Gophers. Ohio State defeated Cornell 7-3 on Oct. 26 to win the Women's Icebreaker Tournament at the Schottenstein Center in Columbus, Ohio.
The Badgers and Gophers are tied for the most national titles of any league member with seven, while Ohio State has won two. Ohio State is the reigning national champion, after winning its second title last season by knocking off the Badgers 1-0 in Durham, N.H.

The first semifinal game will stream on ESPN+ at 4 p.m. CT with the second semifinal game also being streamed on ESPN+ at 7:30 p.m. CT. The national championship game will take place at 3 p.m. CT Sunday, March 23 on ESPNU.
