Minneapolis, Minn. - For the first time since 2023, Minnesota has advanced to the NCAA Frozen Four after defeating Colgate 3-2 in the NCAA Regional Finals.

The fourth-seeded Minnesota Golden Gophers defeated fifth-seeded Colgate 3-2 in the NCAA Regional Finals to clinch a spot in the 2025 NCAA Frozen Four. Second Team All-WCHA member, Abbey Murphy, scored on the power play for Minnesota at the 5:40 mark of the opening period, marking the only goal of the first frame. The Gophers scored two unanswered in the second period as Murphy netted her second of the game just over five minutes in, and teammate Sydney Morrow scored less than five minutes later. The third period saw Colgate score back-to-back goals in the opening 11 minutes, but that was not enough as the Gophers held onto the 3-2 lead for the final 19 minutes of play.
