A trio of weekend sweeps and strong goaltending claimed the latest WCHA Player of the Week honors, presented by OS Hockey.
Ohio State's Jocelyn Amos, Minnesota's Sloane Hartmetz, and St. Cloud State's Alexis Ehrman helped their programs to sweeps, while Bemidji State's Sophia Villanueva recorded a 54-save weekend to earn weekly awards.
WCHA Forward of the Week
Jocelyn Amos, Sr., Ohio State (Ailsa Craig, Ontario)
In Ohio State's series shutout of then-No. 8 Colgate, Jocelyn Amos led the Buckeyes with three goals. All three of her goals came on special teams with a shorthanded goal in each game and a power play goal in game two. Amos is the first Buckeye to score shorthanded this year, while her two shorthanded goals this year tie for the most in the nation. She scored both a power play goal and a shorthanded goal in the same game for the second time in her career (last on Oct. 26, 2024 vs. Cornell) in Saturday's 8-0 victory. The WCHA Forward of the Week award is the first of the season for Amos and third league weekly honor overall in her career.
Other Nominees: Talya Hendrickson (Bemidji State), Madison Kaiser (Minnesota), Alice Sauriol (St. Cloud State), and Ayla Puppe (Minnesota State).
WCHA Defender of the Week
Sloane Hartmetz, Fr., Minnesota (Phoenixville, Pa.)
Helping Minnesota to a weekend sweep of Lindenwood was Sloane Hartmetz. From the blueline, Hartmetz tallied a career-high of four assists in the 11-0 victory on Thursday evening. In the two-game series, Hartmetz tallied 13 shots on goal and skated to an outstanding plus-8 rating on the ice. The WCHA Defender of the Week honor is the first league honor of Hartmetz' career.
Other Nominees: Lola Macuiba (Bemidji State), Regan Bulger (St. Cloud State), and Mira Jungåker (Ohio State).
WCHA Goaltender of the Week
Sophia Villanueva, So., Bemidji State (El Paso, Texas)
As Bemidji State faced off against then-No. 9 St. Cloud State, Sophia Villanueva started both games in net and stopped 54 of 58 shots faced in the conference road series. Villanueva earned a .931 save percentage and a 2.06 goals against average over her 116:44 in goal, to average 27 saves per game while facing 29 shots per contest. She also helped Bemidji State hold its opponent scoreless on all three power play opportunities during the series. The WCHA Goaltender of the Week award is the first of the season for Villanueva, as well as the second of her career.
Other Nominees: Hannah Clark (Minnesota), Emilia Kyrkkö (St. Cloud State), and Taylor Kressin (Ohio State).
WCHA Rookie of the Week
Alexis Ehrman, Goaltender, St. Cloud State (Calgary, Alberta)
Alexis Ehrman helped St. Cloud State secure a series sweep of Bemidji State as she saved 23 of 24 shots faced in Saturday's 3-1 victory. Her .958 save percentage on the night did not allow an even strength goal, while Ehrman improved to 3-1-0 on the season. Among WCHA netminders, Ehrman ranks No. 3 in goals against average (1.00) as well as No. 4 in save percentage (.958) and saves per game (23.00). Ehrman's efforts helped the Huskies extend their best start in WCHA play in program history at 6-0-0. This marks the first Rookie of the Week title for Ehrman and second league award of the season after being named WCHA Goaltender of the Week on Oct. 5, 2026.
Other Nominees: Davina Davis (Bemidji State), Adrianna Milani (Minnesota), Hayley McDonald (Ohio State), and Payton Finnie (Minnesota State).
