A stellar field featuring four of the nation's top-15 programs is set to compete in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association’s 2026 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff, set for March 5 & 7 at Lee & Penny Anderson Arena, hosted by the University of St. Thomas.
After winning their respective best-of-three WCHA First Round series, Wisconsin, Ohio State, Minnesota, and Minnesota State have advanced to the 2026 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff.

Regular season champion Wisconsin clinched its 11th WCHA league title in program history to earn the tournament's top-seed as the Badgers recorded a series sweep against eighth-seed Bemidji State in the WCHA First Round. The top-seeded Badgers will face Minnesota State in Thursday's first semifinal at 4:02 PM CT. The fifth-seeded Mavericks are making their first semifinal appearance since 2009 after defeating fourth-seeded Minnesota Duluth in the WCHA First Round best-of-three series.
Second-seeded Ohio State will face third-seeded Minnesota in the second semifinal contest on Thursday at 7:32 PM CT. The Buckeyes recorded a sweep against seventh-seeded St. Thomas in the WCHA First Round, while the Gophers won in three games against sixth-seeded St. Cloud State. During the regular season, the Buckeyes went 3-1 against the Gophers.
Wisconsin enters the event as the defending Final Faceoff champion after defeating Minnesota 4-3 in last year's title game. The Badgers are also the reigning NCAA Champions after a thrilling 4-3 overtime victory against Ohio State in last season's national championship game.
The winner of the 2026 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff receives the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Women’s Ice Hockey Championship.
