For Play in September and October, National Awards Shared with Wisconsin's Hall and Lopušanová, Ohio State's Jungåker and Minnesota Duluth's Gascon

The Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) announced its first set of national monthly awards for the 2026-27 season as four Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) student-athletes earn honors for their efforts in September and October. Wisconsin's Cassie Hall and Nela Lopušanová are joined by Ohio State's Jungåker and Minnesota Duluth's Ève Gascon in the national honors.

HCA Co-Forward of the Month - Cassie Hall, Sr., Wisconsin
Wisconsin's Cassie Hall was named the HCA Co-Forward of the Month, along with Clarkson's Jesse Pelletier, for her efforts in September and October. Hall recorded 21 points by 10 goals and 11 assists through the season's first 10 games. Her 21 points lead the NCAA, tied only with teammate Nela Lopušanová, while her eight-game goal streak tied for the second-longest scoring streak in Wisconsin's program history. Seven of Hall's 10 games played were multi-point performances, including a season-best of four points by a goal and three assists in the 12-1 win over RV/No. 15 Minnesota State. Hall was also named the WCHA Forward of the Month for September/October.

HCA Tri-Goaltender of the Month - Ève Gascon, Sr., Minnesota Duluth
With a nearly perfect .982 save percentage and a GAA 0.40, Minnesota Duluth's Ève Gascon was named HCA Tri-Goaltender of the Month. Gascon shares the award with Princeton's Uma Corniea and Northeastern's Lisa Jönsson. Gascon went 5-0-0 with four shutouts to start the season, to also earn the title of WCHA Goaltender of the Month with two Goaltender of the Week honors so far this season. This month's action included Gascon becoming the Minnesota Duluth program record holder for career shutouts, while she currently holds 25 in her play as a Bulldog. The HCA national honor is the third of Gascon's career, after also earning Goaltender of the Month titles in Feb. 2026 and Dec. 2025.

HCA Defender of the Month - Mira Jungåker, Jr., Ohio State
While helping Ohio State to the top ranking in the nation, Mira Jungåker leads all defenders nationally with 19 points through her first 10 games played. She is also the team and nation's assists leader with 17 helpers. Jungåker has been a key piece in the Buckeye special teams, as she leads the team with eight points and seven assists on the power play, while also assisting on both of the Buckeyes' shorthanded goals. Jungåker has points in the last eight games she has played in for Ohio State and has five multi-point games this season. In four games against rivals then-No. 1 Wisconsin and then-No. 3 Minnesota, she tallied a combined 10 points by two goals and eight assists. The HCA honor is the first of Jungåker career, along with her first WCHA Goaltender of the Month title earlier this week.

HCA Rookie of the Month - Nela Lopušanová, F, Wisconsin
Wisconsin's Nela Lopušanová holds an NCAA-leading 21 points by 10 goals and 11 assists, leading the nation with teammate Cassie Hall through the first 10 games. Lopušanová's impressive start to the season included a six-point game against then-No. 9/8 St. Cloud State, where she notched five goals and one assist. She became just the second Badger and second freshman in NCAA history to score five goals in a game. Six of her first 10 games have been multi-point performances, leading to her first HCA honor of her career. The award comes after her first WCHA Rookie of the Month title for her play in September and October.
