The Western Collegiate Hockey Association went undefeated in the opening weekend of the season, combining for six series sweeps and a 12-0-0 record in nonconference action against Hockey East, Atlantic Hockey, and ECAC Hockey.  



St. Thomas - 3 vs. New Hampshire - 1 | Box Score | St. Thomas Recap 

• A two-goal third period fueled the 3-1 victory for the Tommies, securing their first sweep of the season. 
• Junior forward Chloe Boreen kicks off the season with a two game scoring streak with goals in both games of the series. 
• Junior goaltender Dani Strom recorded 18 saves, including a game-high of eight in the opening frame.

• This marks the fourth straight year that the Mavericks have swept the opening series, while five Mavericks recorded multi-point games in the win.
• Sophomore forwards Mercury Bischoff and Zoe Lopez each recorded two goals each in the victory.
• Five different Minnesota State players had multi-point games, while senior goaltender Hailey Hansen tallied 20 saves between the pipes. 

No. 1 Wisconsin - 6 at RV St. Lawrence - 0 | Box Score | Wisconsin Recap 

• With Saturday's win, Wisconsin is now 6-1-0 in the all-time series against St. Lawrence with a five-game winning streak dating back to Jan. 7, 2003. It's also the fourth season in a row that the Badgers have started the season with a sweep. 
• Sophomore goaltender Rhyah Stewart stopped all 15 shots she faced to record her first career shutout.
• Senior forward Kelly Gorbatenko enjoyed a career-best five-point weekend with four goals and an assist. 

RV St. Cloud State - 4 vs. No. 7 UConn - 2 | Box Score | St. Cloud State Recap

• Four different St. Cloud State players recorded multi-point nights, led by senior forward Alice Sauriol's trio of points (1G, 2A). On the weekend, Sauriol had a hand in six of SCSU's eight points on the weekend. 
• SCSU picked up its first series sweep against a ranked team since Oct. 4-5, 2024 against then-No. 15 Mercyhurst.
• Following a game-high of 10 saves in the third period, junior goaltender Emilia Kyrkkö finished the evening with 24 saves. The netminder totaled 51 saves on the weekend with just four goals against to lead St. Cloud State to an upset weekend sweep. 

No. 9 Minnesota Duluth - 4 vs. No. 15/14 Mercyhurst - 0 | Box Score | Minnesota Duluth Recap 

• Senior goaltender Ève Gascon moved into a tie for the program's all-time career shutout with the 23rd of her career and second in as many games. Gascon tallied 44 saves across the weekend with zero goals allowed. 
• Head coach Laura Schuler now has 99 career wins as a NCAA Division I head coach, currently in her third season leading the Bulldogs, with her time at the helm of Northeastern and Dartmouth. 
• UMD is now 20-2-2 on opening weekends over the past 11 years, dating back to the 2015-16 season.
