The Women’s Hockey Commissioners Association has announced the three finalists for the Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year Award.  Included on the list from the WCHA is Ohio State University senior goalie Raygan Kirk along with Clarkson University’s Michelle Pasiechnyk and Northeastern University’s Gwyneth Philip

It is a veteran group as Pasiechnyk and Kirk are seniors while Philips is a fifth-year student. Voting was carried out by a panel of coaches, administrators and members of the media from across the country. The winner will be announced during the NCAA Frozen Four in Durham, NH.

All three finalists are preparing for their conference championships: Kirk and the Buckeyes are the top seed in the WCHA. Their Friday semifinal is against Minnesota Duluth at 1:00 p.m. in Minneapolis.

The Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year Award was established in 2021.

Kirk is a resident of St. Anne, Manitoba and led OSU to a current #1 national ranking at 31-3-0 overall.  Ohio State also captured its second consecutive Julianne Bye Cup championship with a 26-2-0 WCHA record in 2023-24.  Her GAA of 0.96 is currently best in the NCAA as is her winning percentage of .947.   This season, Kirk has posted an 18-1-0 record that includes seven shutouts and a .949 save percentage.  She has allowed only 18 goals in 1123:01 minutes played this winter for OSU.
