Ohio State's Svensson, Minnesota's Clark, & Wisconsin's Harvey Awarded WCHA Monthly Honors Presented By Sterling Trophy Awards & Engraving For Performances in October

Ohio State's Hilda Svensson, Minnesota's Hannah Clark, and Wisconsin's Caroline Harvey claimed the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) monthly honors presented by Sterling Trophy Awards & Engraving for their performances in October.


WCHA Forward & Rookie of the Month
Hilda Svensson, Fr., Ohio State (Oskarshamn, Sweden)
For the first time in her career, Ohio State's Hilda Svensson earned WCHA monthly honors as she was named both the Forward and Rookie of the month for October. The rookie forward recorded 15 points off of seven goals and eight assists while averaging 1.67 points per game for the Buckeyes in October. The Oskarshamn, Sweden native recorded six multi-point games in October. Svensson also collected two WCHA Rookie of the Week honors in October. In her first 10 games of her collegiate career, Svensson has totaled 18 points as she leads all rookie skaters in the NCAA this season in points.

WCHA Defender of the Month
Caroline Harvey, Sr., Wisconsin (Salem, N.H.)

Wisconsin's Caroline Harvey was named the WCHA Defender of the Week for the first time this season for her performance through nine games in the month of October. Harvey led all WCHA defenders with her 13 points off of five goals and eight assists during October, while also posting 11 blocks on the month. The senior helped the top-ranked Badgers to an 8-1-0 record in October while also earning the WCHA Defender of the Week honor twice during the month. Harvey currently leads all blueliners in the NCAA this season with 20 points.

WCHA Goaltender of the Month
Hannah Clark, So., Minnesota (Oshawa, Ontario)

Minnesota netminder Hannah Clark earned her first WCHA monthly honor, being named the league's Goaltender of the Month for October. Clark made 223 saves, recorded a 1.36 goals-against average, and a .957 save percentage through eight games in October. The Oshawa, Ontario native earned two shutouts in the month, with both coming over ranked opponents as she collected 24 saves against No. 13 Boston University on the road on October 3rd and stopped all 24 shots she faced against No. 4 Minnesota Duluth on October 24th. The sophomore also allowed just one goal in Minnesota's defeat of No. 1 Wisconsin to help the Gophers hand the Badgers their first loss of the season.
