The College Sports Communicators (CSC) announced the 2024-25 Academic All-America® Women's At Large Teams on Tuesday, as two Western Collegiate Hockey Association student-athletes earned First Team recognition in Minnesota's Audrey Wethington and Minnesota Duluth's Clara Van Wieren.
A total of 46 student-athletes were recognized. The16 first team members hold a cumulative 3.89 GPA. A total of 19 honorees have a perfect 4.00 GPA, including seven on the first team.
The 2024 and 2025 WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete of the year, Van Wieren, was one of just seven repeat selections after earning the honor in 2023-24. A native of Okemos, Mich., Van Wieren maintained a perfect 4.00 GPA over her entire collegiate career, including this past season as she pursued a Professional Studies master's degree at Minnesota Duluth. Two weeks ago, the now former Bulldog was selected by the Toronto Sceptres as the 25th overall pick in the 2025 PWHL Draft.
A graduate student from Edina, Minn., Wethington earned her first CSC Academic All-America selection. The 2025 NCAA Elite 90 Award recipient has been named a finalist for WCHA Outstanding Student-Athlete each of the past two seasons while earning WCHA All-Academic and WCHA Scholar Athlete Award honors in each of the four years in which she was eligible. Wethington was one of 19 honorees with a perfect 4.00 GPA.
