Minnesota State and St. Thomas continue to receive increased votes as they look to crack into the Top-15 polls.

In the Win Column: After scoring Friday’s overtime game-winner, senior forward Sofianna Sundelin assisted on Saturday’s game-winner to help St. Cloud State remain undefeated in league action at 4-0-0 for the first time in program history.

Backstopped in Duluth: Senior Ève Gascon continued her shutout streak with a perfect weekend against Bemidji State, making 42 saves with zero goals against. Gascon holds four shutouts in her five games played this season and became Minnesota Duluth’s career shutout leader on Oct. 16, surpassing 24 in her career. Freshman Marilou Grenier added her first career shutout against St. Thomas (Oct. 10), for five of Minnesota Duluth’s six wins this season stemming from shutout performances.

Game-Winning Standout: In the season’s eight games, Ohio State’s Hilda Svensson has recorded an NCAA-leading four game-winning goals. In addition to scoring four of Ohio State’s seven game-winners, Svensson also assisted on the game-winner at Penn State (Sept. 24).

Strong Shorties: Three WCHA players have tallied a shorthanded goal this season, first by Bemidji State’s Hailey Armstrong against Minnesota (Oct. 3). It was the second shorthand tally of Armstrong’s career. St. Thomas’ Whitney Horton scored her first career shorthanded goal against St. Cloud State (Oct. 16), before Minnesota Duluth’s Caitlin Kraemer added a shorty at Bemidji State (Oct. 17).

hAll of the Points: Senior forward Cassie Hall’s eight-game goal streak is tied for second longest in Wisconsin school history alongside the likes of Hilary Knight, Kelly Kegley and Laila Edwards.
