Gascon was also named this year's WCHA Goaltending Champion after posting a league-best .943 save percentage in conference play. The Bulldog netminder also led all WCHA goaltenders with her seven shutouts in league play.
The Women’s Hockey Goalie of the Year Award was established in 2021. The first three winners came from Northeastern University: Aerin Frankel (2021 and 2022) and Gwyneth Philips (2023). Clarkson’s Michelle Pasiechnyk took home the trophy in 2024, and Wisconsin’s Ava McNaugton was last year’s winner.
