AHCA Full Release

The American Hockey Coaches Association (AHCA) released its annual list of  Krampade All-American Scholars on Wednesday afternoon, as a total of 73 Western Collegiate Hockey Association student-athletes were recognized. 

To qualify, a student-athlete must have attained a 3.75 GPA for each semester and had to appear in 40% of the team’s games. Exceptions were granted to injured players and back-up goalies. Schools also were required to be members of the AHCA.

Bemidji State, Minnesota State and St. Thomas each had 13 student-athletes receive the honor to lead the league. St. Cloud State had 10 athletes named to the list, followed by Wisconsin with eight, Ohio State with seven, Minnesota Duluth who had five, and Minnesota had four. 

 Five WCHA athletes not only earned this academic status but were also voted as CCM/AHCA All-Americans for their on-ice play in Ohio State's duo of Emma Peschel and Joy Dunne, along with Minnesota Duluth's  Ève Gascon, Wisconsin's Lacey Eden, and Minnesota's Sydney Morrow.
