Mendota Heights, Minn. – Sophomore Maddy Clough's lone Tommie goal in the series finale with Franklin Pierce was not enough to get passed the Ravens who scored with 2:05 to go in the overtime period, taking the nonconference matchup 2-1.
The Ravens (1-2) secured their first win of the season primarily on the backs of Mikayla Kelley, who scored both goals, and goalie Suzette Faucher, who stopped 56 Tommie shots, a career high.
St. Thomas (1-3) out shot their opponents in every full period of the two-game set and in total held a 90-29 advantage in shots on goal.
Clough, a sophomore from Andover, Minn. had a very productive weekend scoring her first goal of the season in the second period after assisting on two goals the night before.
The Tommie power play was 0-3 on the night with eight shots on goal. Their penalty kill was perfect on two attempts facing four shots in the process.
Saskia Maurer played nearly 63 minutes in goal. She saved 18 shots and allowed just two goals, bringing her weekend totals to 29 saves and two goals against, a 1.00 GAA and .935 save percentage in 122:54.
