HAMDEN, Conn. – The second-ranked Wisconsin women's hockey team was shutout for the first time this season, dropping a 3-0 decision at fourth-ranked Quinnipiac on Sunday afternoon at the M&T Bank Arena.
Quinnipiac (18-3-0) scored their first goal of the weekend with less than two minutes to go in the first period, scoring with an extra attacker on a delayed penalty to take a 1-0 lead against the Badgers (16-3-1).
After a scoreless second period, Quinnipiac doubled their lead, scoring on a power play in the third period to grab a 2-0 advantage.
The Bobcats put the game out of reach with a goal with six minutes left in the third period to cap off the scoring.
Cami Kronish made 18 saves in the setback.
