2023-24 Rivalry Series features WCHA connections

The 2023-24 Rivarly Series between Canada and the United States will feature many former and current WCHA players on the rosters of both squads.

The women's national teams from both Canada and the United States will begin this season's Rivarly Series on Nov. 8 with a game at Mullett Arena in Tempe, Ariz.  The seven-game competition will then conitnue with a game on Nov. 11 at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.

843The series will then head north for a game at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium in Kitchener, Ontario on Dec. 14.  On Dec. 16, the Rivalry Series will make a stop at the Progressive Auto Sales Arena in Sarnia, Ontario.  On Feb. 7 play will resume with a game in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan at the SaskTel Centre and then play on Feb. 9 at the Brandt Centre in Regina, Saskatchewan.  Play in the Rivalry Series will then finish back in Minnesota on Feb. 11 with a match at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Now in its fourth season, the Rivalry Series was introduced by USA Hockey and Hockey Canada in the 2018-19 season and comprised three games between the women’s national teams of the two countries.

This year's roster from Canada features eight players with connections to the WCHA and the United States roster includes 15 players with WCHA connections - including seven current players in the league.  Listed below are the current and former WCHA players involved in this year's Rivalry Series.

Of note, former Minnesota State players Shari Dickerman and Alli Altmann both serve on the coaching staff of Team USA during the Rivalry Series.  Dickerman also currently serves as an assistant coach at Minnesota State.  Former UMD player Caroline Ouellette serves as an assistant coach for Team Canada.

The games are scheduled to be broadast via the NHL Network.
