Six Western Collegiate Hockey Association teams are in action this upcoming weekend as Bemidji State, Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State, St. Cloud State and St. Thomas take to the ice.

The Final Faceoff bracket and participating teams will officially be determined after the eight WCHA programs compete in the best-of-three WCHA First Round on Feb. 28-March 2.

In the Rankings: The WCHA had five teams ranked in the top 11 in the USCHO with No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Minnesota, No. 6 Minnesota Duluth and No. 11 St. Cloud State.
Julianne Bye Cup: Wisconsin claimed its 10th Julianne Bye Cup WCHA Regular Season Title in program history after defeating No. 3 Minnesota 8-2 last Saturday.
Netminders to Watch: Minnesota Duluth’s Ève Gascon & Wisconsin’s Ava McNaughton were named semifinalists for the Women’s Hockey National Goalie of the Year Award
Murphy Monthly: Minnesota’s Abbey Murphy was named the HCA National Forward of the Month for January, marking the second-straight month Murphy has earned the honor.
Oh My O’Brien: In Wisconsin’s 6-1 win against Minnesota on Feb. 9, Casey O’Brien became the second Badger in program history to record 250 points and now has 252 points in her career.
Goals for Gentry: Emma Gentry now ranks second in all-time career goals for St. Cloud State after scoring a goal in the win over Minnesota State last Friday.
Point Leaders: The top-four point scorers in the NCAA reside in the WCHA with Wisconsin’s O’Brien ranking first followed by teammates Laila Edwards and Kirsten Simms and Minnesota’s Murphy
Big Time Badgers: Wisconsin leads the nation in multiple categories including assists (311), goals (174), penalty killing percentage (.926), power-play goals (32), scoring defense (1.12), scoring margin (4.31), scoring offense (5.44), team points (485) and winning percentage (.938).
Short Handed? No Problem: Jenna Buglioni recorded her sixth short-handed goal of her career against St. Thomas last Friday and tied the Ohio State program record for total short-handed goals.
Maverick Madness: Minnesota State earned the shootout win over No. 11 St. Cloud State last Saturday. The Mavericks took five points from the Huskies on the season.
