The top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers were crowned the 2024-25 Julianne Bye Cup Western Collegaite Hockey Association regular season champions to highlight Saturday's slate in the WCHA.
Minnesota State took the extra WCHA point in a shootout win over No. 11 St. Cloud State, while No. 2 Ohio State (St. Thomas) and No. 6 Minnesota Duluth (Bemidji State) each recorded series sweeps over their respective opponents.

MADISON, Wis. - The top-ranked Wisconsin Badgers were crowned the 2024-25 WCHA Julianne Bye Cup regular season champions after defeating No. 3 Minnesota 8-2 in the opening game of the Border Battle series. The Badgers scored back-to-back goals in the opening five minutes courtesy of Laila Edwards and Lacey Eden. Ella Huber brought the Gophers within one at 9:25 in the first, but Marianne Picard found the back of the net to give the Badgers the 3-1 lead heading into the second. Wisconsin recorded three unanswered in the second as Maggie Scannell, Edwards, and Casey O'Brien each lit the lamp. The third period saw O'Brien notch her second of the game just 26 into the final frame. Sydney Morrow gave the Gophers their second of the day three minutes later, but Wisconsin's Vivian Jungels scored the final goal of the game for the 8-2 victory.

BEMIDJI, Minn. - For the second-straight game, No. 6 Minnesota Duluth shut out Bemidji State to earn the series sweep against the Beavers. Six different Bulldogs scored in the contest en route to the 6-0 win. After a slow start and scoreless first frame, the Bulldogs scored five in the second as Jenna Lawry, Olivia, Wallin, Clara Van Wieren, Caitlin Kraemer, and Grace Sadura each found the back of the net. Kamdyn Davis scored the lone goal in the third period for the 6-0 victory. Tindra Holm recorded her second-straight shutout and fourth of the season after recording 13 saves in the contest.

COLUMBUS, Ohio - After a thrilling overtime victory on Friday night, No. 2 Ohio State defeated St. Thomas 5-1 on Saturday afternoon for the series sweep. Jocelyn Amos recorded the opening goal for the Buckeyes eight and a half minutes into the first frame. The remaining five goals of the game were scored in the second frame as Makenna Webster gave the Buckeyes the 2-0 lead with a goal just over a minute. St. Thomas then answered with its first and only score of the day from Sadie Lindsay. The Buckeyes would then score three unanswered goals from Kiara Zanon, Joy Dunne, and Jenna Buglioni.

MANKATO, Minn. - Minnesota State took the extra WCHA point against No. 11 St. Cloud State after earning the shootout win on Saturday afternoon. St. Cloud State's Sofianna Sundelin put the Huskies on the board first eight minutes into the first frame before Claire Vekich responded for the Mavericks just eight minutes later. Jenessa Gazdik found Bella Shipley for the go-ahead Mavericks goal in the second. The Huskies responded in the third with the game-tying goal from Avery Farrell nine minutes into the final frame. After a scoreless overtime, the Mavericks took the extra point in the shootout.
