Just a day after earning Western Collegiate Hockey Association monthly honors, Minnesota's Abbey Murphy and Ohio State's Hailey MacLeod landed National Player of the Month honors, announced by the Hockey Commissioners Association (HCA) on Thursday.

HCA Defender of the Month - Abbey Murphy, Minnesota
After producing 27 points on 16 goals and 11 assists in just eight games played during January, Minnesota's Abbey Murphy earned the HCA National Forward of the Month for January. The Gopher forward recorded three hat tricks during January, including back-to-back hat tricks against Sacred Heart and then No. 12 Minnesota State. Murphy also scored at least one goal in all eight games played during January. On Jan. 3 against Sacred Heart, Murphy tied the Minnesota program single-game points record with seven. Murphy is now representing Team USA at the 2026 Winter Olympics.
HCA Co-Goalie of the Month - Hailey MacLeod, Ohio State
Hailey MacLeod was named the HCA National Co-Goalie of the Month for January, marking her first national monthly award of the season. The netminder posted a perfect record in January at 6-0-0 with five of the six wins coming against ranked opponents. The six wins by MacLeod were tied for third amongst all NCAA goaltenders in January. Through six games, MacLeod recorded a 0.83 goals against average and a .966 save percentage. She also helped the Buckeyes finish with a 10-0-0 record in January, including four series sweeps against ranked opponents. To close out the month, MacLeod recorded back-to-back 32-save games against then No. 9 Minnesota Duluth, tying her season high for saves in a game. The Buckeye netminder is now 14-2-0 on the season.
