WCHA & Minnesota Hockey Announce Renewed Partnership

The Western Collegiate Hockey Association and Minnesota Hockey announced a renewed commitment after joining together last season to enhance the league's premier event in the Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff. Minnesota Hockey, an affiliate of USA Hockey, is the governing body of youth and amateur hockey in Minnesota and the premier developer of hockey players in the state.

"The WCHA is thrilled to continue our partnership with Minnesota Hockey, and we are excited to cross-promote to help grow the girls’ and women’s game," said WCHA Commissioner Michelle McAteer. "Minnesota Hockey has provided extended resources and visibility that expand our reach and connect with hockey fans across the state.  We share the same goal - to inspire and empower future generations of girls' and women's hockey."

This renewed collaboration with Minnesota Hockey is designed to continue to help expand visibility, engagement, and growth opportunities for both organizations. Minnesota Hockey will once again aid the WCHA in increasing its overall reach and draw attendance for the 2027 Kwik Trip WCHA Final Faceoff. Minnesota Hockey will aid in promotional efforts for the league's premier event through multiple established media channels, including email and print communications.

"Minnesota Hockey is delighted to collaborate with the WCHA," said Jeremy Reed, Executive Director of Minnesota Hockey. "This partnership aligns seamlessly with the women’s collegiate hockey landscape. Notably, during the 2025-26 season, WCHA teams boasted 80 Minnesota-born players. We eagerly anticipate partnering with the WCHA to fill the Lee & Penny Anderson Arena with prospective players and enthusiasts. Let us witness the esteemed women’s college hockey conference in the nation crown a champion!"
