Big Ten Network to Televise Pair of WCHA Games This Season

Dec. 5 Border Battle and Feb. 20 Game at Lambeau Field Picked Up by BTN

Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) fans will be able to watch a pair of highly-anticipated games featuring multiple nationally-ranked teams on the Big Ten Network this season. The top three programs in the nation in Ohio State, Wisconsin, and Minnesota take to the ice on national television this season as part of the league’s partnership with the Big Ten Network.

This year's WCHA schedule on the Big Ten Network includes two key matchups as Minnesota hosts Wisconsin in a Border Battle on Saturday, Dec. 5, as well as a rematch of last year's NCAA Frozen Four Championship in Wisconsin and Ohio State. The second BTN televised matchup is the final game of the regular season with conference points on the line, as the powerhouses drop the puck at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. on Saturday, Feb. 20.

"We are excited to again have two regular season games air on the Big Ten Network in the 2026-27 season," said WCHA Commissioner Michelle McAteer. "The WCHA is home to the top three ranked teams in the country, and their storied matchups will be broadcast to a larger audience on BTN which helps us grow our fanbase.'

Wisconsin at Minnesota (Ridder Arena - Minneapolis, Minn.)

Saturday, Feb. 20 – 2 p.m. CT / 3 p.m. ET
Ohio State vs. Wisconsin (Lambeau Field - Green Bay, Wis.)

Always a matchup circled on the calendar, the Big Ten Network will nationally televise the game on Saturday, Dec. 5 when Wisconsin travels to Minnesota. In the second game of the Border Battle between the two teams this season, puck drop is set for 7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET and fans can count on a competitive game between the historic programs. Last season, Minnesota and Wisconsin skated in alternating high-scoring matchups, and split both weekends of the regular season action.

Saturday, Feb. 20 is highlighted by Ohio State and Wisconsin traveling to Lambeau Field in Green Bay, Wis. for a rematch of the 2026 NCAA National Championship. Over the course of six matchups in the 2025-26 campaign, Wisconsin claimed four including a narrow 3-2 victory in the National Championship for its ninth program title. Held at the home of the NFL's Green Bay Packers, Saturday, Feb. 20's Frozen Tundra Faceoff marks the second time in three seasons the two programs will play outdoors. The Buckeyes and Badgers played at Wrigley Field in 2025, with Ohio State earning the extra conference point in a seven-round shootout victory.

All WCHA home games not aired on The Big Ten Network throughout the season can be watched on the B1G+ streaming platform. A B1G+ subscription, which provides access to WCHA hockey games as well as the entire library of events and programming on B1G+, is available in both annual ($89.99) and monthly ($12.99) options.
