Sweet 17: After a 6-0 win against Quinnipiac in the NCAA Regional Final, Wisconsin advanced to its 17th NCAA Frozen Four appearance in program history. The 17 appearances are the most of any NCAA DI program. Wisconsin has reached the last four NCAA Frozen Four tournaments.
SIX IN A ROW: Ohio State defeated Yale 6-1 in the NCAA Regional Final to advance to its sixth straight NCAA Frozen Four Appearance. The Buckeyes improved to 13-4 all-time in the NCAA tournament with the win against the Bulldogs. All of Ohio State's Frozen Four appearances have come during head coach Nadine Muzerall's tenure.
Badgers GREATER THAN Lions: Second-seeded Wisconsin will face third-seeded Penn State in the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals on Friday at 6:30 PM CT. Wisconsin holds a 3-1-0 all-time record against Penn State. The last time these two teams met was on Friday, October 4th, 2019, when the Badgers won 7-0 in Madison.
Badger in Charge: Wisconsin's Head Coach Mark Johnson reached 700 career wins with the Badgers' 6-0 victory against Quinnipiac in the NCAA Regional Final. Johnson became the first coach in NCAA women’s hockey history to reach 700 wins.
Nothing new for the Bucks: Top-seeded Ohio State will face fifth-seeded Northeastern in the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals on Friday at 3 PM CT. The last time the Buckeyes met the Huskies in the NCAA Frozen Four Semifinals was on March 17, 2023, when Ohio State defeated Northeastern 3-0 inside AMSOIL Arena in Duluth, Minn.
TOP TEIR LEADERS: After advancing their teams to successful postseason play, Ohio State's Nadine Muzerall and Wisconsin’s Mark Johnson are two of the seven finalists for the CCM/American Hockey Coaches Association 2025-26 Division I Women's Ice Hockey Coach of the Year Award.
Nation's Best: Heading into this weekend's action, Wisconsin's Lacey Eden leads the NCAA in points this season at 75, while teammate Caroline Harvey leads all blueliners in the NCAA in points (62), goals (18), and assists (44). Ohio State's Hilda Svensson leads all rookies in the NCAA with 32 assists.
