A full slate of conference play is on deck this weekend in the Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) with all eight league teams in action, including two top-10 matchups.

Move on Up: For the first time this season, five WCHA teams were ranked in the Top 10 of the USCHO.com poll with No. 1 Wisconsin, No. 2 Ohio State, No. 3 Minnesota, No. 4 Minnesota Duluth, and No. 10 St. Cloud State. Both Minnesota State and St. Thomas received votes in the poll.
Marquee Matchups: A full weekend of conference play is on the way, highlighted by two top-10 matchups as No. 1 Wisconsin welcomes No. 4 Minnesota Duluth to Madison and No. 3 Minnesota and No. 10 St. Cloud State face each other in a home-and-home series.
WCHA Over Everyone: WCHA teams have compiled a 25-1-0 record through three weeks of non-conference action as Bemidji State, Minnesota, Minnesota Duluth, Minnesota State, Ohio State, St. Thomas, and Wisconsin are all undefeated in non-conference play.
Winning Mavericks: After last weekend’s series sweep of Lindenwood at home, Minnesota State improved to 4-0-0 as this marks the first time since 2009-10 that the Mavericks have opened their season on a 4-game win streak.
The Buckeyes Are Back: Ohio State opened its 2025-26 campaign last weekend with a series sweep of then No. 7 Colgate on the road as the Buckeyes became the first team since 2013 to defeat the Raiders in their first game of the season.
Big-Time Beaver: In Bemidji State’s 4-1 win over Robert Morris last weekend, Hailey Armstrong scored all four goals to tie the program record for most goals in a single game set on Dec. 4, 1999, by Kerri McEwen.
Murphy Magic: Minnesota’s Abbey Murphy recorded her second hat trick of the season in the Gophers’ 5-2 win over Boston University last Saturday. Murphy leads all players in the nation this season with 15 points in just four games.
Shutout Queens: Last weekend’s action saw four WCHA netminders record shutouts, with Bemidji State’s Kaitlin Groess earning the first of her career, Minnesota’s Hannah Clark collecting her first of the season, and Wisconsin’s Ava McNaughton and Minnesota State’s Hailey Hansen each earning their second of the season.
Saving the Day: WCHA goaltenders hold the top-four spots in the NCAA in goals against average, with St. Cloud State’s Emilia Kyrkkö and Minnesota’s Clark tied for first with a 0.50 goals against average, followed by Wisconsin’s McNaughton (0.52), and Minnesota’s Layla Hemp (1.00).
