Wisconsin's Harvey & Eden, Ohio State's Svensson, St. Cloud State's Kyrkkö Earn Weekly Honors Presented by OS Hockey

Wisconsin's Lacey Eden and Caroline Harvey were joined by St. Cloud State's Emilia Kyrkkö and Ohio State's Hilda Svensson in earning the latest Western Collegiate Hockey Association (WCHA) weekly honors presented by OS Hockey. 


WCHA Forward of the Week
Lacey Eden, 5th-Yr, Wisconsin (Annapolis, Md.)
After recording back-to-back four-point games at the SMASHVILLE Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase, Wisconsin's Lacey Eden earned her first WCHA Forward of the Week honor of the season. On Saturday, in Wisconsin's 5-1 win over RV Mercyhurst, Eden scored two goals and tallied two helpers before following up with a one-goal, three-assist performance in Sunday's 17-2 victory against Stonehill. Eden became the ninth Badger in program history to reach 200 career points after recording an assist in the win against Stonehill. The Annapolis, Maryland native led all WCHA skaters on the weekend with eight points.

WCHA Defender of the Week
Caroline Harvey, Sr., Wisconsin (Salem, N.H.)
Wisconsin's Caroline Harvey recorded seven assists at the SMASHVILLE Women's Collegiate Hockey Showcase en route to earning her fourth WCHA Defender of the Week honor of the season. In the Badgers' 5-1 victory over Mercyhurst on Saturday, Harvey tallied three helpers and broke the record for most career points by a WCHA defender, surpassing Ronad Curtin's (Minnesota) previous total of 167. In game two against Stonehill, Harvey earned four assists to help the Badgers in the 17-2 victory. On the weekend, Harvey led all WCHA blueliners in assists with seven.

WCHA Goaltender of the Week
Emilia Kyrkkö, So., St. Cloud State (Nokia, Finland)

For the first time this season, St. Cloud State's Emilia Kyrkkö was awarded the WCHA Goaltender of the Week for her performance at the D1 in DC event. On Friday, Kyrkkö backstopped the Huskies to a 3-2 overtime win against then No. 12 Colgate with her 29-save performance as she allowed just one even-strength goal for a .935 save percentage. On Saturday, in the Huskies' 2-0 loss to No. 10 Clarkson, the sophomore netminder stopped 26 of the 28 shots she faced and again allowed just one even-strength goal. Kyrkkö had the best save percentage among WCHA goaltenders who played in two games on the weekend at .934.

WCHA Rookie of the Week
Hilda Svensson, F, Ohio State (Oskarshamn, Sweden)

Ohio State's Hilda Svensson claimed her fourth WCHA Rookie of the Week award this season after her performance in the Buckeyes' undefeated showing at the D1 in DC event. In Ohio State's 8-0 win against No. 10 Clarkson, Svensson recorded her first career hat trick and tallied two assists for a career-high five points. The rookie forward then tallied an assist in Saturday's 5-0 victory over then No. 12 Colgate. Svensson leads all rookies in the NCAA this season with 31 points.
